Orange Travel is Orange Kenya roaming service.
Roaming is defined as the ability for GSM users to automatically make and receive voice calls, send and receive data, or access other services when travelling outside the geographical coverage area of their own home network, by means of using a visited network.
With Orange Travel, customers travelling abroad can use the services of another foreign operator where Orange has a commercial roaming agreement in place to permit this.
While roaming, your telephone number remains unchanged, and you can receive telephone calls just like you were in Kenya. Your bill will be paid in Kenya in Kshs.
The list of available destinations is growing every day. Be sure to call our customer care service on 100 from your Telkom or Orange line before you travel to check if your destination is available.

Any phones that work on Orange Kenya network operate in the 900 and 1800 MHz band , they are called Dual band. Most modern mobile phones work on at least these two frequencies and will work in Africa, Europe and Most countries in Asia.
In the Americas, they operate on 1900 MHz, so you need a phone which supports 1900 MHz Band. Mobiles phones that 900/1800/1900 are called tri band. The very latest phones are quad band and they work with any network, anywhere in the world.

There are two ways of selecting the network while roaming:

The default setting is Automatic. Network selection will be done automatically by your handset. Upon arrival in case Orange has more than one roaming agreement in the visited country the handset will automatically register into the network with strongest signal.
2.Manual Network Selection
Manual network selection is desirable when you have a preference of one of the GSM networks, or in case you experience problems with selected network. For more details on manual section, consult your phone manual.
